Simulation: International Investment - Cai 2009

I have set up a portfolio management simulation for your class using OTIS. In order to participate you will need to register for OTIS at http://wharton.pearsoncmg.com/otis/.

To register for OTIS, you will need the access code. If you do not have a Student Access Kit, you can purchase access online at http://wharton.pearsoncmg.com/otis/.If you arestudent in LUBS5052 InternationalInvestment, please email Charliefor an access codeafter you haveteamup with your fellow students.

In addition to your access code, you will needthe instructor's Course ID. The Course ID for your LUBS5052 InternationalInvestment is:

Follow the instructions in your Student Access Kit or the instructions at http://wharton.pearsoncmg.com/otis/ to complete your registration.

Simulation Quick Reference Guide:

Trading will begin on February 17, 2009 and end on May 16, 2009 with the following parameters:

  • Commission Rate: $25.00 Per Trade
    A flat commission charge of $25.00 will apply to each trade, regardless of the number of shares traded.
  • Liquidity Constraint: 5% of the average volume from the last 5 days.
  • Initial Cash Amount: $100,000.00
  • Duration for GTC (good till cancle)orders: 14 days
  • Margin Trading: Enabled
  • Short Selling: Enabled
  • Equity Trading: Enabled
  • International Stock Trading: Enabled
  • U.S. Treasury Trading: Enabled
  • Municipal Bond Trading: Enabled
  • Corporate Bond Trading: Enabled
  • Option Trading: Enabled
    • Option Commission: A charge of $20.00 for each trade and $2.00 per contract.
    • Option Liquidity Constraint: 5% of the average volume from the last 5 days.
  • Mutual Fund Trading: Enabled
    • Mutual Fund Load Type: Front Load
    • Mutual Fund Commission: A charge of $0.01 for each dollar invested.
    • utual Fund Redemption Fee: $0.02
  • Exchange Traded Fund Trading: Enabled
  • Future Trading: Enabled
    • Future Commission: A charge of $1.00 for each contract traded.
    • Options on Futures Trading: Enabled
